Promoting Health and
Fitness with the
Children in District 3

Thank you for taking the time to visit the website dedicated to educating our youth on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle through exercise and diet.

This website was built as an educational tool for parents and children on learning different aspects of exercise and healthy eating with the goal of aggressively attacking the childhood obesity and childhood diabetes problem we face here in San Antonio.

It is our hope that we find innovative ways in creating partnerships with our local school districts in an effort to help with these very serious issues our children face.

I am proud to announce our partnership with the Harlandale School District for the District 3

SA Kids Get Fit Walk to Wellness Challenge.  There will be over 200 children from both Schultz and Wright Elementary participating in the  2-semester 24 week health and wellness program.

Each of the participants have been given a backpack, a pedometer, a jump rope and a log book to track their exercise activity as well as healthy nutrition information.

It is these types of initiatives that will lead to a healthier lifestyle for the youth of our community.

Jennifer V. Ramos

Councilwoman, District 3

Important to work out/play for 60 minutes per day

It is well documented that children are encouraged to workout or play for no less that 60 minutes per day.  We have set up a sample workout program for young children to do while accomplishing the 60 minute workout goal.  Please click here to view the sample workout program.
